Brown Derby Cocktail

History has it that the Brown Derby was invented at the Vendome Club in Hollywood, CA in the early 1930's.  It was named after the iconic celebrity hangout at Sunset and Vine, the immortal vestige of 1930's glitz and glamour, THE place to see and be seen in Hollywood..  the legendary and infamous Brown Derby Restaurant.

Multi-dimensional and completely satisfying, the Brown Derby Cocktail is one of those unique cocktails that is perfect no matter what the time of year. The tart, citrusy flavor of grapefruit is perfect in the Spring or Summer, but warmth of the sugar and Bourbon marriage makes it just as beautiful during the autumn or winter.

We made our Brown Derby using our S.O.B Bourbon to begin with, (so you know it is going to be damned smooth), then added fresh grapefruit juice and a hint of our proprietary distillers sugar to add that sweet like honey quality.  Just chill, shake, pour into a waiting glass for a cocktail that is sure to please the senses any season.
